Project Dogwaffle's particle tracing system (Optipustics) is highly customizeable. This page contains examples of what can be created with just a few strokes buy using various Dogwaffle settings. You can right-click and save the *.opt files shown here. If you copy the *.opt files into the folder where Dogwaffle is installed then you'll see that they will be recognized as optipustics presets the next time you start Dogwaffle. Note that some of the settings here may already be in your system, because there is a good collection of presets since the PD 1.6 release. A few additional ones shown here were posted by Dan Ritchie or others. Finally, keep in mind that you can and are encouraged to change the many parameters to explore variants of these and create and save your own new settings. And if you find a new great preset you'd like to donate don't be shy and email it to us at along with a Jpeg image showing an example of what you can do with that setting. The newer versions of Dogwaffle, PD Artist, PD Howler and PD Particles, include also a collection of a different brush type, called Foliage brushes. These contain not just one set, but up to 9 sets of parameters. |

Sometimes, changing just one little parameter value or working with different colors and opacity modulation in the color gradient can create very interesting variants. Try the Garland for instance, and change the number of splits from 4 to 7, it will make for a much more fluffy, almost furry appearance. And don't forget also that some of these are best used with animations and in combination with a brush or glow mode, even through the stroke player in order to spread the optipustics drawing effect across a number of frames (for example the fireworks settings). How to install: Click the link of a chosen particle setting (or right-click or select 'Save Link Target As...' or equivalent depending on your browser) to save the .opt file. Be sure to save the file into the proper folder for your version of the software: |
