(re-)Discover Puppy Ray, with the basics
Here is a starting page for discovering the many things you can do with Puppy Ray in PD Artist and/or PD Howler:
http://thebest3d.com/puppyray/
It's not only for nature's landscapes, you can also use patterns and shapes to be interpreted as elevation maps, and create 3D logos, and fancy backgrounds of many types.
This one below started with just a simple grid pattern.
Last minute addition!

The Last 2 Draws
Two more things:
Firstly, you will want to read this blog. It's a fun link about cartoon techniques:
BG Painting 4 / Color Theory- Art Lozzi explains some technique
http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2006/12/color-theory-art-lozzi-explains-some.htmlDogwaffle is now at version 11, and this blog from Art Lozzi dates back about... you guessed it, 11 years! .... to December 2006, so yes, this blog is a bit dated, but hey, you know what? so does Dogwaffle, and this never gets old. Check that blog, it is highly recommended, and entertaining too, and look also for a number of other blog posts and links to other artists you can find from there. And don't be shy of trying that "Donate" button when you see one :-)
Where were we, back then, at the end of 2006? Let's check the timeline of historical releases here: http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/whatsnew
This was the time of PD Pro 4 / 4.1 - my my my how much has changed since then! Looking at these old pages, you may still learn a thing or two that perhaps you didn't know, a tool, a filter, a technique.... a bug too,... and that some of the animations shown there on that page won't play anymore because of the old Flash plugin you may no longer have in your browser.
And finally, another piece done with Puppy Ray. Does it look a bit like very well groomed trees on those hills?
And that's a wrap, for now.
Thanks for waffling and howling!
