This is Full HD, 1920x1080 - not large enough? Need 4k x 4k? Forget 4k... Try 8k x 8k |
What is a Large Image?
About 20 years ago, a Large image was anything bigger than 160x120.
Ok, maybe not. But 640x480, now that was very crisp and beautiful.
What happened?
You know what happened. More is better. More pixels, higher definition, more color depth, all of it.
PD Howler and PD Artist are still 32-bit programs, but we can still render and paint over large images. Full HD sounds not so full anymore in 2018. The 4k TVs are down to almost free, 8k is the new frontier.
Still, here are a few examples of renderings in 1920x1080, Full HD.
Want to try it yourself? Download this file which contains the elevation map PLUS the color map too. It's a dogwaffle thing. Main image, Swap image. You have two eyes? Use them both. Two half-brains? Challenge them equally.
