Dan's done it again. Here are
more free updates, patches, some minor bug fixes
(did you know there were any?), and some fun new features.
If you're still not
using the latest commercial version
2.x, what are you
waiting for?
The
2.1a patch - What's in It?
- Penny is updated with
new paint modes button and new
modes to go with it.
- Patterns panel
has option for saving and deleting
patterns.
- new feature: the Brush
Timeline: modify the frames of
an animated brush to create new animated brushes in the same way as the
Animation's Timeline editor. [watch the video tutorial]
- More about the Brush
Timeline:
This is the 'cool feature du jour'!
This plugin lets you do for animated brushes what the timeline does for
animations. There are some differences however. Brush keying is taken
into account. There are new features to affect a brushes key. There are
no 'combine with swap' filters. There is a slightly different workflow.
It is a compromise between the timeline and the brush manager. A source
and destination buffer is kept in memory. You can use either of them as
a brush. To keep a render in order to put another one on top of it,
simply select 'keep render', otherwise, changes are temporary. There's
also a minimize button so the panel can be - uh - minimized ;-)
Download and Installation:
Note: A newer update or
patch has been released: go to v2.1b
If for some reason you prefer this older update, it may still be here for a short while.
This is an
installer. After downloading and saving it (to temp folder
or desktop), simply double-click it to launch the installer. It
will look for a legitimate 2.x installation. You will need to guide it
an tell it the folder name and path where your current 2.x installation
can be found.

Wait,
there's more.... Additional New
Plugins |
Yup, we've squeezed
two more plugins here, they
didn't make it into the 2.0a patch installer, but they're here and
ready to use. So you can download them and extract them and save them
in the folder where you installed Dogwaffle. (that would normally be
"C:\Program Files\project dogwaffle" but may be different on your
system). Be sure to quit Dogwaffle first. After restarting Dogwaffle
you'll find these new plugins in the Plugins panel (shortcut:
"k" as in killer plugins :-)

current image. It can be applied cumulatively and with varying sizes.
Installation:
Download the file from here: Weave_pf.zip [42 kb, 111 kb unzipped]
Extract (unzip) the file (Weave_pf.exe) and copy it into the folder
where you have your Dogwaffle installed. (e.g. in C:\Program
Files\project dogwaffle). Restart Dogwaffle. Open the plugins panel
(shortcut: 'k') and find the new Weave plugin in the Filter tab
(default tab).

New Plugin: Wafflize
This plugin overlays a pattern like waffles over the current
image. You can set a size parameter, and again you can apply the filter
multiple times with different sizes.
Oh, by-the-way, see that boat on Lake Geneva? it was
rubbed through the sky image. Great feature in Dogwaffle to blend
through parts of another image into the current image.
Installation:
Download the file from here: Wafflize_pf.zip [37 kb, 99 kb unzipped]
Extract (unzip) the file (Wafflize_pf.exe) and copy it into the folder
where you have your Dogwaffle installed. (e.g. in C:\Program
Files\project dogwaffle). Restart Dogwaffle. Open the plugins panel
(shortcut: 'k') and find the new Wafflize plugin in the Filter
tab
(default tab).
