new lighting tool:
|
- Note:
This was originally meant only for users
under Windows XP. And for v 9.0-9.2 of PD Howler/Artist.
- UPDATE: (October 2016)
We have also tested it briefly and seen it work on Windows VISTA. And that was with Howler 10.
And in one case on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
So, if you are having trouble with your installation's ability to run
PuppyRay CPU, this might be worth a try for your installation too.
- Important:
Before replacing your existing file, make a safe copy of it.
This is an updated DLL (dynamic link library) file made to
fix a bug for Puppy Ray when running Howler 9.0 or
PD Artist 9.0 under Windows XP. This now also
applies to Howler 9.2 and Artist 9.2 - Only under
Windows XP!
dr_raytrace.dll
or: a zip archive containing the same
file: dr_raytrace_2010.zip
Save the dll on your local drive or desktop, then
copy it into the folder where your Howler 9 or
Artist 9 installation is located. It will override
an existing file of the same name. Windows will
ask if you wish to replace the existing one. Click
yes or OK to allow it. Then start Dogwaffle 9
again and you will now be able to use Puppy Ray
even under Windows XP.
Warning:
You may see ads on the right side which
invite you to download missing dll's. Be careful
when following such ads. You don't want to
install something from an unknown or untrusted
source. Always scan your downloads through an
updated antispyware/antivirus program, even
downloads that come from our website.

Important
|
Regardless
of where you download it from, always take the
time to scan the downloaded file for malware
such as viruses and trojans.
If your antivirus program reports a problem,
it could be a false positive, i.e. false
detection, as we've seen
in the past.
But better be safe. Contact
us if you have questions.
