Download and Save the Installer

 Start by downloading and saving the installer. We recommend you save it to your desktop. Don't try to run or open it from your web browser, download and save it first. Then you will easily be able to run the installer as Admnisitartor, plus you can easily make yourself a backup copy of it to reinstall later if needed.



Get the .NET FrameWork 4

If you see an error message like this:



You will need to install the latest version of the Microsoft  .Net (dot net) Framework 4. See details in the FAQ or directly  here.


Disable User Account Control (UAC)

Be sure to disable UAC if you're on Windows 7 or Vista with UAC enabled. This is only temporarily recommended. After installation, bring UAC back to the level you currently use.

If you're not familiar with UAC, here's an example of how to find and change it in Windows 7 (64-bit version of Win7 Home Premium):

Open the Control Panel:



The Control panel can be in several display modes, such as Category mode, or large or small icons. An easy way to find UAC is when in icons mode. For example: use 'Small icons' mode:

When in icons mode, such as Small icons here, find and click the 'User Accounts' option:





When looking at User Accounts, you should see an option to 'Change User Account Control settings'. This may look different in Windows VISTA.

On some versions of Windows, you may only find an option to turn UAC on or off. In this example (Windows 7) you can see several levels. Bring it down to the lowest level: Never notify.


Click OK to quit the UAC control panel. Note that you will need to reboot in order for the change to take effect:



Running the installer As Administrator

After rebooting and verifying that UAC is turned off, right-click the PD Pro 5.1b installer icon that should be on your desktop. Select 'Run As Administrator':
