Adding more snow in the Foreground
You can now select the next mask, for example the one allowing the snowflakes to be rendered over the sky as well as the not-so-distant hills and trees, but still masking away the house and nearby grass down low - those regions will be for final render with large flakes and more turbulence.

Look for the stored alpha buffer's mask, and click on its "Replace" button now to put that mask back into play.


Perhaps you can change the brightness. PErhaps that area is under a dark cloud, so the snow flakes will be darker. Or to the contrary the might be hit by sunlight, or nearby street lights if it's a night scene, and you might in fact want them brighter than the back far away snowfall or nearby ones to come later on.



Adjust the parameters as desired.

I would probably reduce the count too (first slider: Snowfall) so there's not too many of them at each render.

When you're done with those mid-range snowflakes, move on to the front. That means a mask which has every pixel enabled, or in otherwords: clear the alpha, since we don't need a mask anymore


Clear alpha for the last renders which will have large, nearby flakes with lots of turlence.

In fact, if this is to be a night scene, and there's light near the house but not near us where the 'viewer' is, you will want dark flakes up in front.
